Getting a Visa (Schengen) is very easy perhaps based on my experience since i dont have a lot of questions and glitch in getting my visa via Dubai VFS.
Here my guide to share:
I have searched in the internet for the step by step guide but it leads me to this website of VSF via >> https://france-visas.gouv.fr/web/france-visas
- Create an account at the website above and fill in all information. After filling ALL information it will ask you about the supporting document to be entered, normally the support document is you travel itinerary like the air ticket and the hotel stay.
- After all information including the supporting document, this will give you a list of ALL supporting document you need to take and below are as follows in no particular order.
- Hotel Bookings
- Air Ticket
- Bank Statement , normally this is 3 months but I gave my 6 months
- Pay slip for 6 months
- Passport Copy
- Residence Visa/ Emirates ID - since I am working here in the United Arab Emirates
- NOC for Travel and Travel Insurance (normally you can buy this in the VFS area but our company provides such so no need for me to buy.
- At the end of the form and everything is completed, you will ask to pay for AED 106 for the checking of the document and you got to enroll now for an appointment.
- The appointment section is a bit tricky since i had a hard time getting into their website, but no worries surely you can maneuver to their website for a schedule at ease. i have booked mine 1 week after the completion of my document so that I have enough time to check my document for any missed ones.
- On the schedule / appointment date I came 30 minutes ahead so that i can be prepared, the venue is at VFS in Wafi Mall - 2nd Floor- just present your appointment letter , be sure to leave your bag at the counter since no bags are allowed inside and validate your appointment letter in the counter before you are given the assigned room depending on the country you applied to.
- Once inside the designated room, you will be given a priority number, wait for that number to be called and present all your documents to the person in charged to check.
- Once your number is called, present all your document as calm and confident as possible, the checker is very helpful as he will tell you if there is something is missing.
- TIP - i believe that the checker only received all the document , these documents will be submitted to the embassy for final checking and approval, they normally check that you can afford the travel and funding is consistent. your salary and the amount that is in the bank on a monthly basis should be consistent.
- After submitting all requirements including the original passport and a bit of talking to the person in charge of checking my document, she then ask me for the payment for processing and additionally for the cost of the courier around AED 310.00.
- You will then received sms notification for tracking your passport and after wait the waiting game starts normally took me 4 working days including the day of appointment
